Irish rockers The Cranberries said Wednesday they would go ahead with a new album despite the sudden death of singer Dolores O’Riordan in January.

The surviving three members of The Cranberries said that O’Riordan had already recorded vocals for a new album, which the band now hopes to finish and release in early 2019.

The Cranberries said that they also would move forward with a 25th anniversary reissue this year of their debut album, “Everyone Else is Doing it, So Why Can’t We?,” after putting work on hold following O’Riordan’s death.

“After much consideration we have decided to finish what we started,” the band wrote on Facebook.

“We thought about it and decided that as this is something that we started as a band, with Dolores, we should push ahead and finish it.”

The 1993 album proved to be an international success led by “Linger,” a wistful song about a first kiss.

The reissued edition will be remastered and feature previously unreleased material from the era, the band said.

O’Riordan was found dead in a London hotel on January 15 at age 46. A full inquest into her death is set for April 3, although authorities are not treating her death as suspicious.

With a voice that merged florid traditional Celtic singing with the ferocity of punk rock, O’Riordan defined the sound of The Cranberries whose major hits also included the politically charged “Zombie.”

The Cranberries last released an album of new material, “Roses,” in 2012 after a gap of more than a decade.

A “No dancing or swaying” instruction on tickets to Egyptian pop sensation Tamer Hosny’s upcoming concert in Saudi Arabia has triggered an avalanche of mockery and ridicule on social media.

Thousands of fans were taken by surprise when tickets for Hosny’s first-ever Saudi concert in the western city of Jeddah on March 30 came with the edict that dancing was “strictly prohibited”.

“Ladies and gentlemen, please fasten your seat belts,” one Twitter user said.

“The corridors and seats will be equipped with sway detectors. Anyone who thinks about swaying will be kicked out.”

Another tweeted: “No dancing or swaying in a concert! It’s like putting ice under the sun and asking it not to melt.”

The kingdom’s entertainment authority did not respond to AFP’s request for comment about the instruction.

With its new modernisation drive, the ultra-conservative kingdom has hosted a series of concerts in recent months by artists such as Lebanon’s Hiba Tawaji and legendary Greek composer Yanni.

Men and women are often seen breaking into dance at such events, in scenes that were unimaginable not long ago.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is leading the reform drive, is seeking to balance unpopular subsidy cuts in an era of low oil prices with more entertainment options — despite opposition from Muslim religious hardliners.

The reform stems partly from an economic motive to boost domestic spending on entertainment as the kingdom reels from a protracted slump in oil prices.

Saudis currently splurge billions of dollars annually to see movie shows and visit amusement parks in neighbouring tourist hubs like Dubai.

After being married for almost a year, popular singer Datuk Jamal Abdillah has finally introduced his wife Datin Zai Izzati Khairuddin to the world, Sinar Harian reported.

Jamal said they had only met once prior to their wedding.

“For me, to be married at the age of 59 is the greatest gift from above,” he said.

He said he would give his all to protect his wife, given their 35-year age difference.

The couple tied the knot on April 1 last year. It is Jamal’s fourth marriage.

More allegations of sexual assault involving filmmaker Kim Ki-duk and actor Cho Jae-hyun were raised Tuesday night in an episode of MBC’s investigative news show “PD’s Notepad.”

Kim, who has won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, has been accused of sexually assaulting an actress, while veteran actor Cho has been accused of sexually assaulting staff on set and students at a college where he taught. 

Tuesday’s “PD’s Notepad” uncovered more instances of sexual assault by the two, who often worked together, through interviews with alleged victims. An actress said that she was assaulted by Kim and Cho while staying at the same motel during the shooting of a film. Cho’s manager also attempted assault. 

The unnamed actress said, “(The three) knocked on the door of my room like hyenas every night. When I was alone, I was so scared that anyone might come to visit me.”

Another actress alleged that she was verbally harassed by the filmmaker while auditioning for a role in Kim’s film at a cafe. She said that she suffered emotional trauma due to his sexually insulting words. 

Furthermore, an actress who officially filed a complaint against the director for hitting and insulting her last year spoke more about Kim’s harassment. She said the filmmaker continued to demand sexual intercourse, and she had to step down from her role, after refusing his demand. 

The filmmaker and the actor are known to be close, having worked together on several films, such as “Bad Guy” and “Moebius.”

The filmmaker denied the sexual assault allegations to the production team, saying “I have never used my position as a movie director to satisfy my personal desire.” Actor Cho also argued that some of the allegations against him are false.
