This year’s hit Korean zombie flick “Train to Busan” is heading to Hollywood.

The French studio Gaumont — responsible for feature productions such as “Point Blank,” “The Fifth Element” and “Leon: The Professional” — will be remaking the film into English, according to the local production and distribution company Next Entertainment World on Thursday.

“We hope this opportunity will get Korean films more attention and become familiar with audiences all over the world,” said Kim Woo-taek, the CEO of Next Entertainment World, in a statement.

Starring Gong Yoo, Jung Yu-mi and Ma Dong-seok, director Yeon Sang-ho’s latest apocalyptic thriller has been this year’s top grossing film in Korea, earning over 93 billion won since its opening in July.

“(Gaumont has been) chasing the remake since the Cannes Film Festival where the whole team loved it so much,” said Gaumont’s CEO Sidonie Dumas.

“We’re excited to start working on the US adaptation that will mark our first foray into English-language moviemaking in Los Angeles.”

Details regarding production and cast for the Hollywood remake are in progress and have not yet been announced.
