If the Met Gala looks this year didn’t impress you, a blogger has upped his game by glamming up some of the red-carpet looks from the event on Monday (May 2).

João Paulo from Salvador, Brazil, did hilarious impersonations of some of America’s most famous female celebrities who attended the event using household items like bin bags, tissue paper and tin foil.

Some familiar names Paulo poked fun at included Taylor Swift, Kate Hudson, and Nicki Minaj.

For his version of Swift’s black-and-silver Louis Vuitton dress, Paulo wrapped himself minimally with tin foil and black trash bags and posed in the same way that the singer did on the day of the event. He also tied black cloth around his legs and even cheekily tip-toed as if he was standing on high heels.

On Kate Hudson’s dress designed by Atelier Versace that had cut-outs shaped like flower petals, Paulo used white tissue paper and tape to dress himself up like the actress. The caption of his photo read: “Making dress with my bundle of paper.”

And for his most popular recreation? It was model Karlie Kloss’ daring gown designed by Brandon Maxwell.

The picture, which has more than 20,000 ‘likes’ on Instagram, showed Paulo draped in white cloth like Kloss but with a plastic bag over his groin area. It had the caption: “Look: I find that the party is 0800 and I have no pocket.”

Paulo’s recreation has drawn some reactions on Twitter, with one user saying “Look at her” in a tweet to the blogger.

Blogger Perez Hilton also commented on Paulo’s impersonations and said in a tweet: “This dude did Taylor Swift better than Taylor did!”

Forget Claire Danes’ glow-in-the-dark dress and the Tamagotchi accessory on Katy Perry. It looks like Paulo was the biggest winner of the Met Gala this year. We wonder what else he will have up his sleeves for future red carpet events.
