Thundery showers expected in second half of June

SINGAPORE – Short-duration thundery showers are expected in Singapore in the second half of June this year. 

The National Environment Agency (NEA) said in a statement that these showers will mostly occur in the late mornings and afternoons on five and seven days. Additionally, widespread thundery showers with occasional strong winds are expected in the early hours on one or two days of the month. 

NEA added that the maximum temperatures in Singapore are expected to range beween 32 degrees Celcius and 33 degree Celcius. However, temperatures could reach 34 degrees celcius on certain days.

The highest recorded daily temperature recorded in the past two weeks was 34.6 degrees Celcius around the Seletar area. The highest rainfall of 222mm (187 per cent above average) was recorded around Seletar.
