SEOUL –
The Office of the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Korea said on Tuesday that it was planning to question President Park in early February when he investigated corruption scandals in Parliament last month.
Prosecutors expect Park to agree to ask questions, but have not yet discussed details with their offices, prosecutors spokesman Lee Kyu-chul said in a media briefing.
As president, Parker was exempt from prosecution in this case, but previously said she would agree with the Special Prosecutor to ask questions.
She denied any wrongdoing.
The Constitutional Court will decide whether to uphold or overrule the parliamentary initiative.
