Singaporeans in Davao, Philippines are safe, said a statement today by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
It “has contacted all registered Singaporeans in Davao and verified that they are safe. The Singapore Embassy in Manila is also in contact with the local authorities on the situation.
“As of now, there are no reports of any Singaporeans injured or directly affected by the bombing.”
The statement also said “Singapore condemns the bomb explosion in Davao City, the Philippines, on Sep 2, 2016, which killed and injured many innocent people.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families and wish the injured a speedy recovery.”
MFA urges Singaporeans in Davao who have not registered with the Ministry to “please let your family and loved ones know that you are safe, or contact the Ministry or the Embassy if you need urgent assistance.”
Singaporeans in the Philippines are advised to exercise vigilance, and monitor the local news and instructions of the local authorities, added the statement.
