Singaporean feared drowned while kayaking in Malaysia

TAPAH: A Singaporean kayaking on Sungai Tesong at Felda Sungai Klah in Sungkai near here is feared to have drowned after falling into the river.

A Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said a distress call was received on Saturday at about 4.50pm.

“The victim, Koh Kah Wei, 30, is said to have fallen into the water during the activity.

“We have conducted a surface search near at the area where the victim fell as well as on the riverbank,” he said.

The spokesman said the water level at the river had risen due to heavy rain.

The search resumed on Sunday.
