A SINGAPOREAN couple’s day of joy turned into a nightmare as substandard pictures of their wedding went viral.
Netizens were quick to point out how terrible the wedding pictures were – marred by strange angles and bizarre color filters – and this was not lost on the couple themselves. The bride posted an album of the images on Facebook along with a lengthy explanation.
Here are several samples of the ‘offending’ images, which have now made their way around the world based on notoriety alone.
And here’s another:
You get the picture:
Using a colorful analogy, the bride Jaclyn Ying, 25, described the photography as “first-date-and-you-clog-the-toilet-with-your-pangsai bad. Or, trust-a-fart-and-a-bit-of-poop-comes-out bad.” ‘Pangsai’ is a local term for excrement.
While she said that she and her husband were seeking “redress” from the bridal shop, she emphasized that the album upload was “not a flame and shame post.”
Taking the incident in relatively good humor, she said, “We just wanted to share some of these hilariously bad photos with everyone.”
This isn’t to say that she wasn’t disappointed in the slightest with how the pictures turned out.
“I was in disbelief. I cried too. A lot,” Ying, an education executive, told the Straits Times.
She said she forked out over US$2,200 (S$3,000) for the wedding package, which covered everything from outfits to 10 hours of actual day photography.
A man claiming to be the photographer responsible for the images wrote on his Facebook page, defending his work and claming that Ying’s post was unfair.
“Edit 900 plus photos for them, they use less than 20 pic … to refund cash paid. Now put up in media to show the whole world and spoil our reputation,” wrote Chung Siew Goh, who later deleted the post.
Eventually, he wrote again on Facebook, this time apologizing to the couple and offering to buy them coffee.
(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “http://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));
First & foremost, I would like to apologise to this couple for the 20+ bad actual day wedding photos that they have…
