SINGAPORE – Singapore is ‘deeply saddened’ over the passing of Thailand’s King Bhumibol, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said in a statement on Thursday.
“The Government and people of Singapore convey their condolences to the Royal Family, the Government and people of the Kingdom of Thailand,” said the statement.
It added that “His Majesty King Bhumibol was an outstanding and deeply revered monarch”.

“His Majesty King Bhumibol will long be remembered and respected both in the Kingdom of Thailand and around the world for his devotion to his people,” said the statement.
King Bhumibol died at Siriraj Hospital at 3.52pm Bangkok time (4.52pm Singapore time) at the age of 88.
