SINGAPORE -To celebrate its 11th anniversary, this year’s Shape Run will be held at the Bayfront Event Space (next to Marina Bay Sands) on July 24, from 6am.

The new starting and finishing point, will allow runners to enjoy the view of Singapore’s picturesque city skyline.

This is also the first race event being held at the location.

Organised by SPH Magazines, Shape Run is Singapore’s first women’s race. It is a highly anticipated event with a loyal following, and is expected to draw a turnout of 10,000.

Besides the 5km and 10km races, Shape Run 2016 is the only women’s run with a 15km category to prepare runners for the next challenge of a half or full marathon, and encourages those familiar with shorter race distances to challenge themselves further.

There is also a 1.8km Family Fun Run for families comprising two to four members. This means that Daddy and the little ones can now join in the fun!

Early bird rates range from $39 for two participants for the 1.8km Family Fun Run to $55 per individual for the 15km category.

There is also an option to give back to society when registering for the race online at www.shape.com.sg/shaperun. Participants can purchase a pink cape for $7 and the cape can be worn on race day. All proceeds will go to Life Community Services Society, which supports disadvantaged children. Online registration closes on 24 June.

Runners can also enjoy special rates when subscribing to the print or digital edition of Shape magazine when registering for the race online.

In the lead-up to the run, Shape will organise three training runs led by Shape pacers. Designed to help participants improve their running technique and race performance, these training sessions are free and open to all who sign up.

A three-day Shape Run Carnival will be held at Raffles City Shopping Centre from July 8 to 10, 11am to 8.30pm.

Runners who miss the online registration can still register for the run at the Carnival. Participants will collect their race packs, worth $400 each, which includes a robin blue racerback tank top by Skechers. They can also enjoy exclusive deals on an array of fitness, beauty and wellness products and services offered by the event partners and exhibitors.

At the end of the run, participants will be rewarded with a Finisher’s Medal.

More exciting updates will be announced leading up to Shape Run 2016. Details will also be posted on www.shape.com.sg/shaperun.
