Taiwanese pop star Ella Chen, who is married to Malaysian businessman Alvin Lai, is reportedly pregnant, according to Sin Chew Daily.
There was speculation that the 35-year-old artiste was pregnant after she rejected doing an alcohol advertisement recently.
Chen’s production company issued a statement saying that it has not received any news from Chen that she was expecting.
Some believe that Chen did not want to make any announcement yet because according to Chinese belief, the good news should only be shared after three months into the pregnancy, to prevent a miscarriage.
Chen, a member of the girl group S.H.E, married Lai in Malacca in 2012.
