Restrained man tries to flee before getting caught by Clementi Mall security and passers-by

A man was apprehended by security and passers-by at Clementi Mall yesterday (May 30) at around 9pm.

Stomp contributor Elijah was at the scene when he saw security guards restraining a man whose shirt was torn at the Basement 1 level of the mall.

“He then broke free and ran towards the escalators before the guards gave chase to catch him,” said Elijah.

“I saw one passer-by try to help them but the two security guards managed to restrain the man again while waiting for the police to arrive.”

Elijah said that the police arrived at around 9.19pm to take down statements and investigate the situation.

Stomp has contacted the police for more information.
