SINGAPORE – The Singapore Police Force has posted a warning on Facebook on Tuesday (Dec 6) against spreading rumours about potential terrorist attacks in December at areas like Orchard Road and VivoCity shopping mall.

The warning came after a Whatsapp message made the rounds.

The Straits Times understands that the message includes warnings that popular shopping stretches such as Orchard Road may be targeted and encouraged people to forward the warnings.

The police also reminded the public to “refrain from circulating unsubstantiated information as this may cause public alarm” in its post.

But it also urged the public to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities, people or items to the police.
