It’s not just Hollywood’s golden couple Brangelina who’s splitting up. Even their respective wax figures have also parted ways.
After news of actress Angelina Jolie filing for divorce from Brad Pitt, London’s Madame Tussauds reacted quickly and announced on Wednesday that their respective wax figures have been separated at a “respectful distance from each other”.
A photo posted on Twitter by Madame Tussaud’s’ official account shows the Jolie and Pitt figures standing apart, with British actor Robert Pattinson standing awkwardly in between the two.

“Following the news that has shocked celebrity watchers worldwide, we can confirm we have separated Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s figures,” read the tweet.
Madame Tussauds told Entertainment Online that attractions around the world are taking steps to part the figures of the two celebrities.
The attraction has confirmed with AsiaOne that the duo has been parted “quite a distance away” from each other.

Jolie and Pitt wax figures are on display at 15 of its 20 locations around the world. They were even featured in New York City along with a replica of their daughter Shiloh as a baby.
News of the couple’s pending separation – who have been together for 12 years and married for two – has rocked the celebrity and Internet world.
While Madame Tussauds attractions around the world have been quick to separate the wax figures, the Internet was also quick on churning out never-ending memes and gifs of Pitt’s ex-wife Jennifer Aniston having the last laugh.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt – popularly known as Brangelina – shocked the world on Tuesday (Sept 20) with news of their split, when Jolie’s lawyer said she had filed for divorce, and cited their separation date as Sept 15.
During the 10 years they spent together, they had six children – three biological and three adopted.
Here’s the timeline of how each child came into their lives, starting first with the oldest, Maddox.
1. MADDOX CHIVAN JOLIE-PITT, 15

The first and oldest child of Brangelina, Maddox was adopted in 2002 from Cambodia, when he was less than a year old.
He is calm around the paparazzi like his parents are.
Jolie has touted him as being interested in pursuing a film-making career.
Maddox took on the role of a production assistant in the 2015 movie By The Sea, a film written by Jolie and co-produced by Pitt and Jolie herself.
Though his role is still undefined, he will be taking part in Jolie’s project with Netflix this year, an adaptation of First They Killed my Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers.
2. ZAHARA MARLEY JOLIE-PITT, 11

Out of all the six children, Zahara had it the toughest before Jolie and Pitt adopted her while she was suffering from malnutrition and other ailments.
She is known for her brooding stare when photographed by the paparazzi.
Her biological mother revealed that Zahara had been conceived during rape, and that she had been unable to raise her, so she was glad that Zahara was fortunate enough to be adopted by Jolie.
3. SHILOH NOUVEL JOLIE-PITT, 10

The first biological child of Jolie and Pitt, Shiloh is described by her mother as a tomboy who is “hysterically funny” and “one of the goofiest, most playful people you’ll ever meet”.
Shiloh has reportedly asked to to be identified as male, and as Jolie stated in a 2010 Vanity Fair interview, Shiloh told her that she “wants to be a boy”.
Shiloh has been inspired by her mother’s humanitarian work, and accompanied her to visit Syrian refugees in Turkey in 2015.
4. PAX THIEN JOLIE-PITT, 13

An orphan from Vietnam, Pax Thien was born in 2003 and adopted in 2007 by Jolie.
The only child of Brangelina that was not with them from birth, Thien used to fret when the paparazzi were around. Now, he has become less shy and is not so afraid of them.

Born with his twin sister in France, Knox is known as a mama’s boy who stays close to Jolie when they are out together.
He was named after Pitt’s maternal grandfather, Hal Knox Hillhouse.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Wednesday (Sep 21) demanded that the world find a new way to halt the threat from North Korea after the long-sanctioned regime’s nuclear and missile tests.
Abe, addressing the UN General Assembly, said that calculations about North Korea needed to change after its latest actions including the state’s test of what it said was a miniaturised nuclear bomb for a warhead.
“There is no alternative but to say that the threat has now reached a dimension altogether different from what has transpired until now,” Abe said.
“The threat to the international community has become increasingly grave and all the more realistic. It demands a new means of addressing it, altogether different from what we applied until yesterday,” he said.
Abe did not spell out specific actions but said Japan would use its non-permanent seat on the Security Council to explore new options.
The right-leaning leader first rose to power with tough talk on North Korea and has made revision of Japan’s US-imposed pacifist constitution his signature issue.
But Japan has never fired a shot in anger since World War II and is constitutionally barred from offensive military operations.
Abe highlighted that Japan, the only nation to have suffered nuclear attack, was committed to the elimination of the ultra-destructive weapons.
Pointing to US President Barack Obama’s landmark visit to Hiroshima in May, Abe raised the spectre of a North Korea willing to use nuclear weapons.
“This is a challenge posed to the conscience of humankind. Were we to overlook it, how would we justify it to our own consciences?” Abe said.
Long history of sanctions
China and the United States are in talks on drafting a new UN Security Council resolution to punish North Korea for its latest moves, although such measures have not stopped Pyongyang in the past.
North Korea is already one of the most impoverished and sanctioned countries on Earth, with a March resolution after a previous nuclear test ordering searches of all ships heading to the isolated country and restricting shipments of luxury products.
Kim Jong-un’s regime says that it needs nuclear weapons to ensure its survival against arch-enemies the United States and Japan and wants recognition as a nuclear state.
China has been increasingly critical of North Korea but many analysts believe that a rising Beijing would prefer to put up with the troublesome regime rather than risk a united, US-allied Korea on its border.
While Obama has supported dialogue with US adversaries, his administration has voiced frustration with North Korea and advocated tough sanctions, with an aid-for-disarmament deal between the countries quickly falling apart in 2012.
Abe in his address also made a new pitch for a permanent seat on the Security Council, pointing out that Japan has historically been the top funder of the United Nations after the United States.
He renewed Japan’s commitments to aid, including international development assistance and financing for adaptation to climate change, saying the country had in recent decades given US$334.5 billion.
“If we do not carry out the reform of the Security Council now, it will easily be put off for a decade or two,” Abe said.
A joint bid a decade ago by Japan alongside Brazil, Germany and India for permanent seats collapsed largely due to opposition from China, the only Asian country with veto power, which accused Tokyo of not sufficiently regretting World War II.
