SINGAPORE – One man was killed on the spot in a Monday (Dec 19) morning rush hour accident on the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) before Tuas West Road.
The victim was trapped in the driver’s seat of a car and had to be extricated by officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). He was pronounced dead at scene by paramedics.
Three others – two women and a man – were conveyed to NUH and the hospital was alerted to be on standby to receive them.

The accident happened at about 8.05am, and according to Netizen Nurul Zaidy, a silver Mercedes was allegedly going against traffic flow.
SCDF dispatched one fire engine, one red rhino, two firebikes and one support vehicle and four ambulances to the scene.
Police investigations are ongoing.
