SINGAPORE – No Singaporeans were injured in the shooting at Tel Aviv’s Sarona Market, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement today (June 9).

The MFA said it has contacted most of the registered Singaporeans in Tel Aviv and verified that they are safe.

It added: “The Singapore Consulate-General in Tel Aviv is also in touch with the Israeli authorities. As of now, there are no reports of any Singaporeans affected by the incident.”

“We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims, and wish those injured a speedy recovery.”

Two Palestinian gunmen shot four people dead and wounded five others at Max Brenner chocolate bar in Sarona Market, a popular attraction, on Wednesday (June 8) night, local time.

Dressed in black suits and ties, the assailants walked calmly into the cafe before pulling out guns and opening fire, surveillance video showed.
