PETALING JAYA – Malaysia’s sweetheart Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza will not be holding a baby shower to celebrate the upcoming birth of her daughter.
“I don’t have any plans to hold a baby shower,” said the 39-year-old singer, who is due to give birth in March.
Siti said she and her husband, businessman Datuk Seri Khalid Mohamad Jiwa, had already held a majlis doa selamat (thanksgiving prayer gathering) with their family members, close friends and some tahfiz students.
The songstress added that she was working on restoring her energy for an eventual return to the music world.
“I will be in confinement for 44 days, but I will also be doing vocal training,” she said during the 14th anniversary of her Sitizoner fan club at Kompleks Metro Pudu in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
Siti revealed that the inspiration for her latest song Comel Pipi Merah (Cute Red Cheeks) came from a tune her late father used to sing.
“The idea for that song came from my late father, who liked to sing it to his children and grandchildren.
“I just changed the beat a little. The first time my husband heard it, he smiled and said he really liked it,” she added.
