KUANTAN – The Singaporean tourist who went missing in Pulau Tioman is believed to have taken a bus to Johor to return to his country.

Rompin OCPD Deputy Supt Muhammad Aidil Roneh Abdullah said investigations found that Mr Sinar Widjoyo Tugi, 73, could have taken a ferry to Mersing on Tuesday morning (June 7).

The ferry crew said they had seen Mr Sinar Widjoyo when shown a picture of the man, said DSP Muhammad Aidil.

“The crew said the man appeared senile and when they reached the Mersing jetty, he did not disembark. So they asked him where he wanted to go and the man answered that he wished to return to Singapore.

“A crew member then took him to the bus ticket counters. He is believed to have taken a bus and may now be in Johor,” he said.

The Johor Baru Selatan district police headquarters and the Johor police contingent control centre have been notified of this latest development.

Mr Sinar Widjoyo was reported missing by his family members on Wednesday afternoon (June 8).

He was last seen at a resort in Kampung Paya on the island.
