SINGAPORE – A 26-year-old man has been arrested at his home on Monday (March 27) after a police raid uncovered two airsoft guns with pellets and two handgun magazines with plastic cartridges in his possession.

The airsoft guns found in his residence at Woodlands Drive have been seized as case exhibits, the police said in a news release on Tuesday (March 28).

Investigations against the man are ongoing, the police added. If found guilty, he can be fined up to S$10,000 and jailed for up to three years.

It is an offence for people to keep, or be in control of, airsoft guns or any other guns which shoot pellets using compressed gas, as they are regulated as “arms” under the Arms & Explosives Act.

It is also illegal to import or export any arms or explosives or any parts of arms or explosives without a licence.
