SINGAPORE – He is being accused of a shocking act – raping one woman three times at three different locations in a span of 20 minutes, but Lim Choon Beng, 30, says he does not remember any of what he did.
According to The Straits Times, Lim, who was then 26 years old, is being accused of raping a 24-year-old woman along a 200m stretch on Martin Road leading up to River Valley Close on the eve of Chinese New Year in 2013.
The victim, a performing artiste from China, was allegedly attacked at 3:15am near a condominium along Martin Road. About 10 minutes later, she was again assaulted near the junction of Martin Road and Robertson Quay. According to Shin Min Daily News, Lim is accused of forcing his victim to perform oral sex on him. Another 10 minutes later, he is believed to have assaulted her once more at a third location near a lamp post down the road.
A pair of torn panties was later found near the spot where Lim allegedly first forced himself on the woman, Shin Min reported.
The zipper of her blood-stained dress was also found to have been dislodged, and Lim’s DNA was found her bra. Her blood was also found on Lim’s underwear and clothes, while both their clothes were stained with soil, the Chinese paper reported.
On Tuesday (May 3), the prosecution brought charges of rape, sexual assualt and outrage of modesty against the Singaporean accused. According to The Straits Times, Lim is contesting all seven charges. He also claims that he does not remember what he did.
One eyewitness who saw Lim on top of the woman called the police after he noticed she was crying.
Another witness due to testify reportedly also saw the woman in distress and drove her to a police station.
