Singer-actor Lee Seung-gi wrote a lengthy letter to his fans on his fan club website Thursday, thanking them for their support and talking about his return to entertainment.
“It’s Lee Seung-gi who came back to your side.”
“Thank you all the fans from Korea and abroad for congratulating me so passionately while it’s not even that your family member is being discharged,” Lee wrote.
In the letter, Lee talked about his life in the military which “was tough though I entered (the military) coolly and calmly.”
He said he had to undergo harsh training in the special forces, some of which even required him to overcome his fear of heights.
“But people can’t predict the future. As I think about myself overcoming the fear I used to have through military life and training, and even enjoying the harsh training, I can look back upon my life,” he wrote.
“I learned with my body and soul that whom you are with is more important than where you are and how you behave is more important than what you do,”
He said while many suggested he take a good rest before he returns to work, he was “already full of energy.”
“I will determine work from now on by prioritizing what I want to do and what I can do best. Of course the result of such conviction may be disappointing.”
He also hinted at his hope to return to the small screen within this year. “I will prove that it is not a lie that I said I will make you see me until you are blue in the face,” he wrote.
Lee finished his mandatory military conscription on Tuesday.
