Iconic Ford Mustang reaching Singapore roads soon

SINGAPORE – Behold: More than half a century since its debut, the coveted Ford Mustang will finally be revving on Singapore roads.

The sixth-generation of the Ford Mustang is the first version to have right-hand drive models, allowing the American carmaker’s iconic “pony car” to be exported to customers in more than 100 markets around the world.

Local car enthusiast website Burnpavement wrote on Facebook that a model has been placed at local Ford agent Regent Motors’ showroom along Alexandria Road showroom.

It added that the dealer had quietly begun taking orders for the Ford Mustang 2.3A EcoBoost.

On its website, Regent Motors has put up photos of the car and its stylish interiors.

It has also posted a list of technical specifications, revealing that the Mustang comes with six-speed automatic transmission with manual override, can reach a top speed of 250km/h and can go from 0 to 100km/h in 5.5 seconds.

According to the website, the car will be available in eight colours: ruby red metallic, black, orange, deep impact blue metallic, guard metallic, ingot silver metallic, magnetic metallic and oxford white.

However, the colours buyers can choose will be subject to availability.

AsiaOne understands that the Mustang will be priced at $245,000, inclusive of Certificate Of Entitlement, and while interested parties can place pre-orders, it is not yet available for test drives.
