A picture of a cupboard with plates stuck precariously against the door is driving the internet mad.
Readers in the Sinosphere were stumped when a Taiwanese by the name of Tseng Shao-Tsen uploaded the photo to a ‘Bao Liao‘ Facebook group on Sunday (Nov 13).
The picture unleashed a frenzy of emotions, with over 500 comments and 16,000 reactions on Facebook as of writing.
While some were despondent by the existential crisis, others chipped in with their solutions to the crockery conundrum.
The solutions online were mainly divided into three camps:
1) Removing the top glass panels to extract the chinaware
2) Tilting the cupboard horizontally
3) Or, removing the lower glass panels and cushioning the impact by suspending a sheet or filling it with liquid
Mission impossible? Ultimately, the solution was simpler than expected.
Mr Tseng, who uploaded the photo on his friend’s behalf, told British tabloid website The Daily Mail that the latter simply opened the door slightly enough to hold the plates, before pushing the door further and salvage the rest of the crockery.
All’s well that ends well.
