PETALING JAYA – The sight of Hong Kong superstar Nicholas Tse sampling local delicacies alongside Malaysian celebrity Datuk Redzuawan Ismail, or Chef Wan, turned heads at the famous Concubine Lane in Ipoh.
In a video by mStar Online, Canadian celebrity chef David Rocco was also seen with them.
The trio are believed to be looking for ideas for an upcoming culinary production.
Tse and Rocco are set to have a culinary showdown in the Celebrity Chef: East vs West cooking show, where a local chef will determine a dish to be cooked.
Social media was abuzz after word got out about the trio’s visit on Monday.
On the same day, Rocco posted a photo on his Instagram page of him and Chef Wan at the Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat in Ipoh, where Celebrity Chef: East vs West is slated to be filmed.
It will also be filmed at Sunway City.
In the caption accompanying the photo, Rocco wrote: “… and sometimes you meet people and you instantly hit it off. Thanks Chef!”
Tse, a singer, songwriter, actor and entrepreneur famous for his roles in Hong Kong movies such as Shaolin, Dragon Tiger Gate and New Police Story, first tried his hand at becoming a TV chef and food critic in 2014.
His smash hit travelogue-cooking show Chef Nic features travel stories and cooking tips.
