A MOTORIST’S swift action of “breaking up” floodwaters helped save three lives.
Sin Chew Daily reported that the dramatic incident took place in south-west China’s Guizhou province on June 20 and was captured on video, which was shared on the Internet.
The footage shows how the man risked his life by stopping his SUV against the dreadful tide of water that was flowing vigorously down a slope to ensure a mother and her two children were not swept away.
Firemen and passers-by managed to pull the mother and children to safety from underneath the vehicle.
It was reported that floods in the region have claimed 12 lives in the last few days with many feared missing following torrential rain.
