SINGAPORE – Planning to party till the wee hours on Christmas eve this Saturday? Train and selected bus services will be extended to help you get home, but be prepared for additional security checks in the vicinity of Orchard Road and Gardens by the Bay.
The police said large crowds are expected in these two areas on Christmas eve and Christmas Day, and urged the public to be vigilant of their surrounding and expect random checks of their personal belongings.
“Women are also advised to be vigilant against opportunists who may commit molest. There were previous incidents where individuals sprayed foam into victims’ eyes before committing molest,” the police said in a statement on Monday.
Meanwhile, transport operators SMRT and SBS Transit said in separate statements that they would extend train services on Saturday night. These are the last train timings for the major MRT and LRT lines on Christmas eve:
The two transport operators will also extend the operating hours for selected bus services. These are the last bus timings for the following services on Christmas eve:
SBS said it would also extend the operation of its six Nite Owl services until 4am.
