SINGAPORE: Fire broke out at a building under construction at Farrer Park on Wednesday night (Dec 7).
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) identified the building was Farrer Square at 1 Farrer Park Station Road. According to the project’s website, the building is an integrated development located above Farrer Park MRT station and includes Park Hotel Farrer Park, retail shops and a medical centre. It is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of 2016.
SCDF said it was alerted to the blaze at about 7.30pm and extinguished the fire using a single water jet. Two fire engines, two red rhinos and six support vehicles were sent to the scene, it said.
No injuries were reported, it added, adding that the workers at the construction site had been evacuated before SCDF officers arrived.
