SINGAPORE – A fire has broken out at another waste management plant in Jurong, nearly a month after a massive fire nearly gutted Eco Special Waste Management in Tuas.

On Tuesday (March 21), the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) posted on its Facebook page at 1.14pm that it had been alerted to a fire at 23 Tanjong Kling Road, which is the address of NSL OilChem Waste Management.

A later update by the SCDF said that the fire involved a section of a waste management plant measuring an area of 30m by 30m. The SCDF “surrounded and contained the fire using foam jets”.

“The fire is currently well under control,” the SCDF added. “Workers in the premises had evacuated prior to SCDF arrival. No injuries have been reported.”
