Feedback on the 2022 Budget Statement
The Ministry of Finance and various agencies including REACH and the People’s Association (PA) have been engaging with the public in preparations for Budget 2022 since December last year. After the statement is issued, the public can submit comments on the Budget through different feedback channels.

These include the Singapore Budget website, the REACH Budget website, the REACH Singapore Facebook page and the REACH Singapore Instagram account.

REACH will also hold two virtual budget dialogues in English and Mandarin on February 24 and February 26, respectively.

Second Minister of Finance Indranee Rajah will chair the English-language session, while Communications and Information Minister Josephine Teo will moderate the Mandarin-language session.

REACH Chairman Tan Kiat How will also be present at both sessions.

In addition, REACH will set up listening points at “high traffic nodes” across Singapore to gather comments on the Budget.

Details of these listening points can be found on REACH’s budget website. The public can also join REACH’s WhatsApp chat group to share their feedback.

The PA and its grassroots organisations will organise a post-budget dialogue to engage residents in the 2022 budget measures.

Interested residents can register at go.gov.sg/postbudget2022 until 28 February at 2pm.

Given the changing COVID-19 situation, post-budget outreach and engagement plans may be adjusted to ensure public health. Treasury, REACH and PA will post updates on their websites or social media channels.

Budget 2022 will help Singaporeans manage cost of living, support industries still struggling: Finance Minister
In a speech last week, Mr Wong said this year’s budget would address concerns about “more pressing issues” such as the cost of living and support industries facing difficulties due to COVID-19.

“We are pleased that the Budget is being carried out with a strong and stable economic recovery,” Mr Wong said.

“Against this backdrop, we know that some industries continue to face difficulties. For these areas, we will provide support. We will also help Singaporeans deal with more pressing concerns such as the cost of living.”
