SINGAPORE – Ever yearned to explore Singapore’s Kusu, Lazarus and Seringat islands, but just never had the time do to so?

Fret not, there’s an app for that.

They are among the 30 places recently added to Google Street View’s Special Collections segment for Singapore, which allows users to take a 360˚ virtual tour of the Republic’s top attractions.

Other newly mapped locations include Duxton Plain Park, Seringat Island and even the dining cluster, Japan Food Town at Wisma Atria.

“Singapore is a top Asian destination for tourists worldwide and having the newly added Special Collections on Street View will give tourists a first glance of what our city has to offer. Many people have told us that Street View helps them in their trip planning when they’re deciding places to visit while on holiday,” said Cynthia Wei, Google Asia-Pacific’s Street View programme manager.

Google is also teaming up with local running group JustRunLah! to map more nature trails around Singapore, capturing over 30 routes that cover more than 400km using Google’s Street View trekker.

“We’re looking forward to working closely with JustRunLah! to capture new imagery of running tracks that are off the beaten path and help get Singaporeans more active with Street View,” Ms Wei said.

Google Street View is available on the web and on Android and iOS platforms.
