SINGAPORE: A driver was killed during the morning rush hour on Monday (Dec 19) in a multi-vehicle collision along the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) in the direction of Tuas.
The accident, which occurred near Tuas West Road, involved at least four cars and a motorcycle, according to a video posted on social media.
The man was trapped in the driver’s seat, and had to be extricated by Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) personnel using hydraulic tools. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

SCDF said it was alerted to the accident at about 8am, and dispatched four ambulances, a fire engine, a Red Rhino, two fire bikes and a support vehicle.
Three other people were taken to National University Hospital with unknown injuries. The SCDF said it alerted the hospital to be on standby to receive those injured.
