British band Coldplay thrilled audiences in Singapore when they made up a song, yes just for us, during the second day of their two-day concert on April 1.

The lyrics went something like this:

“Singapore, Singapore, Singapore
Well we played here four times before
But the way that the crowd they roar
Means we’re gonna play here a helluva lot times more

Singapore well there’s no forgetting
For the whole gig I’ve been severely sweating
Singapore where they cheer so well
But Singapore is as hot as hell

Singapore, Singapore, Singapore
Won’t you listen to that crowd when they roar
Singapore, Singapore, Singapore
We’ve played here a lot
But we’re gonna play here a lot more”

Awww. The little ditty drew laughs and whoops from a very appreciative audience, some of whom queued up since the afternoon to get into the National Stadium on both days (March 31 and April 1).

Guess the band really meant it when they said it was one of the ‘hottest’ shows they’ve ever experienced.

The sold-out concerts also meant approximately 100,000 people caught frontman Chris Martin and band in action during their energetic and colourful two-hour performance.

Here are some of the top moments, according to fans:
