SINGAPORE – The Public Service Division (PSD) announced today (June 14) that all civil servants will receive a mid-year bonus of 0.45 month.

According to a statement by the PSD, civil servants who earn up to $1,843 per month will receive a $20 to $25 pay hike. This will be in addition to the annual increment of the workers’ salaries this year.

The pay rise comes shortly after the National Wage Council (NWC) recommended that a $50 to $65 pay hike be given to workers earning up to $1,110 per month. While $20 and $25 are lower than NWC’s recommendation of $50 to $65 for those earning up to $1,100, all civil servants already earn more than $1,100.

Around 1,500 workers are expected to benefit from this pay rise. They are namely, Division IV and Division V officers in the Operations Support Scheme.

Division IV officers, who receive a monthly salary of $1,446 to $1,843 will see their pay rise by $20.

Division V officers, who earn between $1,205 and $1,536 will get a $25 pay hike.

The mid-year Annual Variable Component (AVC) and the wage increase will be paid out in July this year.
