BEIJING – China’s Foreign Ministry said US President Donald Trump initiated a telephone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday, an exchange in which the two discussed the situation on the Korean peninsula.

Ministry spokesman Lu Kang made the comment at a regular press briefing.
