Booth babes at technology shows are not surprising. Actually, they’re expected – especially at video-game shows like the Tokyo Game Show 2016.
But we’d bet that most people have little experience with booth dudes, since visitors to tech shows are believed to be predominantly male.
However, there were more than a few VR (virtual reality) games targeted at women at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. To sell these games, developers planted teams of handsome men in the show hall this year.
RocketNews24 reported that, rather than let visitors play demo versions of the game Handsome Men of the Japanese Warring States, visitors were treated to “samurai lords” who’d romance women by “gazing intensely into her eyes” while lifting her chin, stroking their hair, or whispering sweet nothings.
However, it’s a bit ironic that these men were there to promote VR games, because one reporter, after trying out one of those games, exclaimed: “I do not need real men any more.”
