A monkey meant serious business when it entered a jewellery shop in India and made off with 10,000 Rupees (S$200), video footage shows.

Security camera footage which captured the monkey’s stealthy actions was shared online by The Times of India on Sunday (June 5).

In the footage, the animal enters the shop in the state of Andhra Pradesh by pushing open the glass door on its own.

According to the shop owner, the monkey threw a guava inside the shop when it entered. The employees in the shop did not take the fruit and threw it back to the monkey.

It then attacked one of the employees and sat at the desk for about 20 minutes before opening the drawer to take the cash.

It then sits quietly at the desk before making its way swiftly out of the shop with the cash in its mouth.

When the shopkeeper tried to approach the monkey, it fled as fast as it could – taking the money with him.
