From 1991 to 2001, David Joyner put on the purple-green dinosaur costume and transformed himself into the iconic Barney the Dinosaur, sharing joy with children on PBS’ show Barney & Friends.
Fast-forward to 2018, Joyner revealed to Vice that he is now running a tantric massage business, which focuses on giving “joy” to women.
A full session with Joyner costs US$350 (S$457). The service is said to include a ritual bath, chakra balancing, massage as well as mind-blowing orgasms.
“When the lingam [penis] and the yoni [vagina] meet, there’s a certain energy that takes place that hands on the body alone cannot create,” said the tantric massage specialist-slash-spiritual healer.
On his previous role as Barney, Joyner said, “The energy I brought [while] in the costume is based on the foundation of tantra, which is love.”
Joyner added that he also used his tantra training to maintain his energy while wearing the 30-kilogram costume for several hours.
Although the temperature inside the purple costume could reach 120 degrees, Joyner said that tantra helped him to maintain an abundance of joy while acting.
