Badminton great Lin Dan appeared incognito on China Jiangsu TV’s King of Mask Singer singing competition, crooning Jacky Cheung’s Bie Wen (Don’t Ask).
Guang Ming Daily reported that Lin Dan listened to Cheung’s hits in his free time and even went to one of the singer’s concerts in Beijing.
Lin Dan said he took part in the reality show because it had always been his dream to become a singer.
“It’s cool to be on stage. I always wanted this kind of opportunity. My dream finally came true,” the daily quoted him as saying.
Lin shared his performance on social media, saying: “I was nervous taking part in a competition, which is unfamiliar territory. I hope all of you liked it.”
The video clip has since gone viral.
