This weekend is a little bit more relaxed (especially compared to the last two weekends of way too many events) so, let’s get all ‘cultural’ with our Party Girl’s recommendations.
The ever cool Gilman Barracks is having an Art Day Out! open house on Saturday from 2pm.
You can check out heritage events, art works by local artists, art films, workshops, and tours of the Barracks itself.
Admission is free and it’s all for the family.
Saturday night from 7pm, The Armoury Gastrobar on Beach Road is having a Military Mess Hall Debauchery Dinner Party.
There will be a free flow of drinks, burgers and bites for $89 on the door. All you can eat and drink in four hours.
For those who want to go a bit further out for something different, hop over the Causeway for the weekend to attend the Johor Bahru Writers & Readers Festival 2016.
There will be workshops, book sales, poetry recitals, and theatre performances. Some really cool ones are on Shakespeare.
This year is Shakespeare’s 400th death anniversary so it’s rather appropriate to be showcasing two of everyone’s favourite bard’s works.
They are Merchant of Venice, which will be in both Shakespearean and modern English, and Hamlet which will be in Malay with English and Mandarin subtitles.
If you don’t know, now you know.
To catch the Party Girl, listen to her on OneFM‘s #1 Breakfast Show with Glenn Ong and The Flying Dutchman on Thursday mornings.
