This weekend our Party Girl has found some unique, one-off events and they start from tonight.

For those of you who enjoy watching home-cooks-turn-professional-chef type TV shows, there’s a real-life event for you to take part in.

Kilo Under Pressure is by a restaurant-bar in Kallang that had called for entries to anyone who is not a professional chef to come and see if the culinary life is really for them.

Out of those who sent in their submissions, some were selected for a series of interviews and tastings. Now, seven have emerged for this real life cook off.

Tonight, one contender will serve up a four-course meal that will cost you $65++ from 7pm.

Then, the remaining six will undergo subsequent Under Pressure sessions scheduled to take place once every month from May onwards.

Reservations are recommended.

Also on tonight, cocktail specialists Jigger and Pony in Amoy St celebrate their fourth anniversary. So head on down for some good fun.

Tomorrow is fight night with One FC’s Ascent to Power. Catch Singapore’s very own female MMA fighter Angela Lee go against Mei Yamaguchi for the women’s title.

It’s from 7pm at the Singapore Indoor Stadium and tickets are still available.

On Saturday, this underground looking bar on Haji Lane called Koi Izakaya is taking over the street with a Prince special.

Some super cool DJs will be funking the street with music from Prince and other gods of boogie from 7pm. Go for their killer Japanese cocktails too.

Over Saturday and Sunday, Doujin Market takes places at Suntec City. Those into manga illustrations should head down.

Doujin is a Japanese word that describes passionate individuals who self-publish and showcase their literary works of pop culture.

The creators often do it self-expression rather than for commercial gain so their works are limited.

Mind you, Doujin Market is not a cosplay event, but it is cosplayer friendly.

Also over Saturday and Sunday is Getai Soul at Pearl’s Hill City Park where local bands come together for a showcase in soul music.

It is a ticketed whole day event.

Sunday sees what used to be Training Shed at Labrador Park that is now called Sunday on the Hill at kulf kafe on Emily Hill.

It’s a day-timer family-friendly event, and it’s free.

And, lastly, on next Tuesday, Canvas Club at The Riverwalk is having a magician’s night with two local entertainers – Ming Da and Shawn C.

Our Shaun T will be hosting the event so, maybe you want to test the magician’s skill by asking them to make Shaun disappear!

If you don’t know, now you know.

To catch the Party Girl, listen to her on OneFM‘s #1 Breakfast Show with Glenn Ong and The Flying Dutchman on Thursday mornings.
