RESIDENTS in Nellore district in Andra Pradesh, India, are living in fear after experiencing 24 earthquakes in the last six months, reported Malaysia Nanban.

Nellore city is located on the banks of one of the major rivers in the state and is home to 500,000 people.

Nearly a dozen villages in and around the district have been experiencing these “mini earthquakes” regularly.

Residents fear the regular tremors might weaken the foundation and structures of their houses.

Many are afraid that a major quake is imminent and this will cause severe life and property losses in the densely populated district.

Residents are scared to sleep in their own homes at night for fear of collapse following another quake on Sunday.
