With the June school holidays fast approaching, some parents may be making plans for a vacation with their children. If you are not, why not head down to Bishan-Ang Mo Kio for “Arts From The Heart”, a fulfilling charity fun run and carnival?
Organised by the Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) Cultural Activities Club, Arts From The Heart is an annual event that aims to raise awareness and funds for an adopted beneficiary through performances and carnival activities.
This year, it will take place on Sunday, June 11, from 12pm to 8pm at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park Activity Lawn I.
There will be family-friendly games and activities, snack booths and performances. Admission to the carnival is free-of-charge, and all proceeds from carnival ticket sales will be donated to The Salvation Army Haven, which is the event’s main beneficiary.
There will also be a 2.7 kilometre fun run, where runners can run as many rounds as they wish to within the stipulated time. For every kilometre covered, the event’s official sponsor, The Young Scientists, will donate a dollar in support of The Haven.
The Haven is a residential home set up by The Salvation Army that cares for children and young people who are unable to be cared for by their own families.
With the funds raised from the event, the organisers of Arts From The Heart hope to support the home’s operations and to provide the children with better care.
Registration ends on May 31.
Interested participants can sign up for the fun run at Arts From The Heart’s official website at http://cacafth.com.
