SINGAPORE – Five passengers sustained minor injuries when the public bus they were on collided with another along Orchard Road this morning (March 7), The Straits Times reported.

They were stable and conscious when they were conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said. It was alerted to the accident, which took place near Ngee Ann City, at around 11.45am.

The injured passengers were onboard an SBS Transit bus. The other public bus involved belongs to SMRT.

Ms Tammy Tan, SBS Transit’s senior vice-president of corporate communications, told The Straits Times that the operator was assisting with the injured passengers at the hospital.

“Our immediate priority is to ensure their well-being and to see how best we can help. All five injured passengers received outpatient treatment,” Ms Tan was quoted as saying.

“To the other affected commuters, we would like to apologise for the distress and inconvenience caused.”

Police investigations are ongoing.
