2 killed, 1 injured after collision between e-bikers and truck at West Coast Highway

Update: A Police spokesperson has released a statement with regard to what happened:

“On 27 October at 11.56pm, the police were alerted to an accident involving a trailer and three power assisted bicycles along West Coast Highway.

“A 25-year-old man was pronounced dead at scene. Two men aged 18 and 17 were conveyed to NUH where the former subsequently succumbed to his injuries.

“The 34-year-old trailer driver was arrested for causing death by negligent act. Police investigations are ongoing.”

Singapore – A collision between three electric bikers (e-bikers) and a container truck left one dead, one critically injured and another with leg injuries late last night (Oct 27).

Four readers alerted Stomp to the incident, which was mentioned in a Facebook post by Naing Htay with photos and videos of the aftermath of the crash.

The photos and videos showed one biker lying in a pool of blood in the middle of the road, with bike parts scattered all around him.

An SCDF spokesperson told Stomp that they were alerted to the accident which occurred at West Coast Highway, at the junction with Pandan Crescent, at 11.59pm yesterday.

“We dispatched two ambulances. There were a total of three casualties,” said the spokesperson.

“One was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two were sent to National University Hospital (NUH),” added the spokesperson.

The spokesperson also said one of the victims suffered critical injuries. The hospital was put on standby to receive the casualty.

The other victim suffered leg injures.

All three victims were male and reportedly Chinese.
