SINGAPORE – A 17-year-old girl was found dead at the foot of an HDB block in Yishun last night (April 4), Lianhe Wanbao reported.
The Chinese evening daily named the victim as polytechnic student Ong Siying, who lived on the 12th floor of the block, 394, along Yishun Avenue 6.
Neighbours heard a loud thud at about 8pm last night, followed by loud wailing from Ms Ong’s mother. They also saw Ms Ong’s brother running out of their home.
Ms Ong was believed to be having problems with her 20-year-old boyfriend, her schoolmate, at the time of the incident, Wanbao said. He reportedly told her earlier that he wanted to concentrate on his studies and had asked to end their two-year relationship.
The police have classified the case as an unnatural death. Investigations are ongoing.
