A 37-year-old woman jumped off an overhead bridge along the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) on Friday afternoon (April 22).
A contributor to Stomp, Azhar, received photos of what happened via WhatsApp, and then forwarded them to the citizen journalism website.
In one of the photos, the woman can be seen lying on the road. A traffic police officer and members of the public were attending to her.
Another photo shows police vehicles and an ambulance under the bridge where the woman jumped.
When contacted, the police said that they received a call at about 12.40pm today, requesting for assistance near the Eunos exit of the PIE towards Changi.
“Upon arrival, it was established that a case of attempted suicide had occurred at the said location,” the spokesperson said, adding that police investigations are ongoing.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that the woman sustained multiple injuries, and was conveyed conscious to Changi General Hospital.
