In a mall in Shenzhen, three political figures have been on display to welcome shoppers.
One of them is Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe who was created with a wrinkly face and a moustache resembling that of Adolf Hitler. The wax figure of Abe was portrayed in a bowing posture, supposedly in apology.
The other two wax figures are of Russian President Vladimir Putin and outgoing US President Barack Obama.
Putin looked rather convincing, while Obama could do with a bit more work.
In a wallpaper behind Abe, the Chinese characters read: “Commemorating the September 18th Incident,” which refers to a Manchurian Incident where an explosion was staged in Shenyang, providing Japan with the pretext for its invasion of Manchuria in 1931, reported Shanghaiist.
This year is the 85th anniversary of that incident.
This is not the first time Abe is portrayed kowtowing. Last year, an Abe robot figure was also spotted in a bowing posture at an exhibition in Shanghai.
