Public members will be allowed to pay respects to His Majesty the King in front of his royal urn inside the Grand Palace’s Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall from October 28, the Royal Household Bureau announced Saturday.

The Throne Hall will be opened for public from 9am to 4pm, but on October 28 the public will be allowed to pay respects from to 1pm-4pm.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Saturday night asked authorities to facilitate all convenience, security and foods for public travelling to pay the respects at the Grand Palace.

The premier also thanked motorcycle taxis who provided free rides to the people to follow the royal procession of HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s body being moved from Siriraj Hospital to the Grand Palace on Friday.

As from Saturday, people will also be able to pay homage to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej before his portrait at the Sahathai Samakhom Hall between 8.30am and 4pm.

People can also bring wreaths after the royal prayer ritual is concluded, while the rest of the Palace and Emerald Buddha Temple will remain closed until October 20.
