If you were to take outfit-repeating notes then you ought to take it from actress, singer, and dancer Rita Moreno who made an impact by wearing her Oscars dress from 1962 when she accepted her Best Supporting Actress Award for West Side Story.

The dress was actually designed by no other than legendary Filipino designer Pitoy Moreno (their last names are just a coincidence!) back when Rita was in Manila filming a movie called Cry of Bataan.

She received the news about her nomination and Pitoy was able to create a masterpiece for her in just a few days. The iconic dress is made of obi fabric used in Japanese kimonos. And as you can see, it still looks stunning 56 years later.

“You think it would tarnish! It’s been hanging in my closet,” Rita told Ryan Seacrest during the red carpet coverage. Rita just made a minor modification by changing the neckline, but the whole look is pretty much the way she wore it back then!

You look so good, Rita and we wish we can pull off outfit-repeating just like you.
