A patrol speedboat and a ferry collided in Gili Trawangan waters, West Nusa Tenggara, on Sunday afternoon, injuring three ferry passengers.
A speedboat from the West Nusa Tenggara Water Police hit the KM Pasir Putih ferry in waters off Gili Indah village, Gili Trawangan, North Lombok.
The injured passengers were taken to police hospital RS Bhayangkara in Mataram.
No fatalities occurred in the accident.
Gili Indah Police station head First. Insp. I Ketut Artana said the accident happened at 11 a.m.
“The collision occurred in waters between Gili Trawangan and Gili Meno,” he told The Jakarta Post.
Along with Gili Air, Gili Trawangan and Gili Meno are popular holiday islands located near Lombok island.
The speedboat departed from Trawangan and was on its way to Nara Bay near Lombok, while the ferry, which was carrying 40 people from Bangsal port in Lombok, was heading to Trawangan.
Several ferry passengers jumped into the water following the collision.
